- Dear Charles and David,
I wanted to thank you both again for an amazing weekend. I'm so happy I was able to attend at
the last minute. This little review I wrote sums up my feelings about the workshop --
"My experience at the Steadicam Guild workshop was priceless. Charles and David put
together an intensive and perfectly structured curriculum. The exercises we did with
professional actors in a real working environment were of enormous benefit to me as an
operator. By blocking and recording a complex scene, then having the instructors analyze our
shots as well as our form, we were able to get incredible new insights into our performance.
It was an innovative and highly effective approach to a Steadicam workshop. Charles Papert
did a fantastic job as lead instructor. He was well prepared, highly informative and a naturally
gifted teacher. In addition to the practical exercises, Charles and David gave us keen insights
into the professional world of the camera operator as well as the finer points of the craft. And
when Steadicam veteran Dan Kneece stopped by to share his wisdom and experiences, that
was simply the icing on the cake.
I highly recommend this workshop to any intermediate level operator who wants to take their
game to the next level. I can't express enough what a great experience this was and what a
vast amount of knowledge I gained over one weekend. Thanks again David and Charles for
putting together this excellent event."
